Rapists should be castrated – Efya talks about sexual abuse

According to Ghanaian musician Efya, harsher punishment should be handed to rapist to prevent others from doing the same thing.

Speaking in an interview with BBC Pidgin, the sultry singer explained that most times people who abuse others sexually escape the laws without getting any or short form of punishment.

“People like they abuse them those things and then rape them.. We forget some drastic punishments give the people where they do that”.

“Sometimes, some people, they get bail. This one goes, you know, and then they still outside, and they still, they do them again,” Efya said, questioning the level of punishments being meted out to rapists.

The award winning artiste added that that she would rather have rapists castrated if she had the power to hand out any punishment.

“Me, I still dey talk sey, they rapist… they castrate them.
