Former Eastern Regional Minister, Hon. Seth Acheampong has taken swipe at opponents of Former President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo.
Speaking on Top Radio’s political show Final Point on September 29, 2025, he said all the negative sentiments spread about the former President is false.
According to Mr. Acheampong, people went as far calling Nana Addo a smoker just to tarnish his image and reputation.
“It got to a time they said WikiLeaks…. When you got to his house, there is smoke all over his room, but I never saw any of these things when I was with him” he said.
He also added that since former president Akuffo-Addo was elected to lead the New Patriotic Party at the Legon Conference in 2007, he has distinguished himself very well in-front of all well-meaning Ghanaians and has held the party together till the 2024 elections when he was voted out of power.

Adding his voice to the removal of Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo, from office as Chief Justice, Seth Acheampong said President John Dramani Mahama risks damaging Ghana’s democracy if he listens to bad advice from people.
‘If President Mahama listens to bad advice from people and remove the woman (Gertrude Torkornoo) from her office, he (President Mahama) has disgraced our democracy because you cannot compare that woman to whoever will replace her’.
President John Mahama fired Gertrude Araba Esaaba Sackey Torkornoo as Ghana’s Chief Justice following a recommendation by an inquiry after complaints were lodged against her in petitions by three individuals.
“Grounds of stated misbehavior… had been established and recommended her removal from office”, a president-appointed commission then found following complaints.
