The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Constituency Secretary for Adentan, Nyedu- Bediako Ebenezer, has admonished that Alfred Ababio Kumi known as Adenta Kumi to be one of their own and are proud of him as he filed his nomination at the Constituency office.
” Adentan Constituency office today is a very important day in the life of the Constituency, and as the regulations of the party demands, few weeks ago you picked your nomination to indicate your preparedness to contest for the Adentan Constituency seat, we congratulate you for that because not everybody who have that boldness and courage to take a step that you have took and the constituency is proud of you for taking that decision”, Nyedu-Bediako Ebenezer said.
According to the Secretary, ” we know you, toady is not your first time, you have been there before and therefore we know what you can do. You gave me an information to pass it on to the election committee that today you want to come file your nomination, though you were behind time, we forgive you because you are one of us”.
The Constituency Secretary made this assertion as the Parliamentary Aspirant, Adenta Kumi filed his nomination form yesterday in contesting the parliamentary seat for the constituency.
The aspirant later thanked the constituency executives for receiving the nomination forms in good faith and also indicated that this will be the last time the Adentan seat will go to the National Democratic Congress(NDC) if he is given the mandate to lead the party as their Parliamentary Candidate in the next general election.
The NPP lost the Adentan seat to the NDC in the 2020 election and poised in winning the seat back from the NDC in the 2024 election.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) opened nominations for parliamentary primaries in orphan constituencies on Tuesday, July 11 where the party has no representation.
The nomination will close on Thursday, August 10 with elections expected to be held from September to December.
The party indicates that male aspiring parliamentary candidates must submit a non-refundable filing fee of GH¢35,000 while women and persons with disabilities would pay 50% of the fee.
Aspirants have been urged to act according to the dictates of the party’s constitution and use the appropriate procedure to channel any grievances that may arise.
