Rapper and Mad Time Entertainment CEO, Kwaw Kese has lashed out the organizers of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards, mentioning that gaining nominations in the most prestigious awards ceremony in the country has become very confusing and lacks transparency.
In a post on micro-blogging platform X, the “Awoyo Sofo” hit maker complained that organizers of the award scheme don’t bother to involve the public in any process before the announcement of nominations are put out.
“Ghana Music Awards turn gob3. You just wake up one day and there’s a nominee party and you ask yourself how and when people got nominated… Call it Beans Music Awards,” Kwaw Kese wrote.
This won’t be the first time the rapper has harshly criticized the awards scheme.
Recall in 2017, Kwaw Kese climbed the then Vodafone Ghana Music Awards stage with all his previously won plaques in a wheelbarrow, saying he’s selling them because the scheme has lost value to him.
The rapper later admitted to the media that he had sold some of the plaques to people and at different prices, due to the deteriorating conditions they’re in.
