The CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), Maame Efua Houadjeto, has revealed that the much talked about “Black Star Experience” will start in the of month July.
The “Black Star Experience” is a major initiative set by the rulling government as a flagship programme to promote the tourism, arts, and culture sector.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency, Mrs. Houadjeto indicated that plan are at advanced stages for the event.
“We are putting together a number of events that will be remarkable for anybody who comes in.”
The Black Star Experience is expected to run throughout the year with several programmes planned to make it a memorable one.
The project which was designed to promote the Ghanaian identity, attract investments, boost tourism and generate employment will be more than an entertainment avenue but also a springboard for collaborations among cultures throughout the world.
“Apart from that, we are also putting together jazz and symphony orchestra performances, as well as a gospel fest. There will also be a highlife festival, as well as the usual concerts and music festivals,” Mrs Houadjeto said noting that the Black Star Experience will be held in Ghana and abroad.
“We will celebrate arts and culture, the movie industry, our youth, and our health..The whole of Africa will be in Ghana to display their diverse cultures and show the unity and beauty of Africans, because we are one people separated by artificial borders.” she said.
