E – Levy law: I can’t promise the cancellation of e-levy when we gain power – Seth Terkper

Former finance minister Seth Terkper , says that “he can’t promise Ghanaians that NDC party will cancel E-levy when power is given to them”

Mr. Seth Terkper made it known during an exclusive interview with Kwabena Owusu Agyeman , the host of final point live on “Top103.1fm” yesterday .

He also stressed on that Akufo-Addo led administration could have use the COVID -19 monies to revive Ghana’s ailing economy during the pandemic.

The finance Minister under erstwhile Mahama administration , Seth Terkper , also revealed that the Akufo-Addo administration should have utilized the nearly six billion dollars accrued from COVID19 judiciously.

He said,” Ghana got closed to 6 billion US dollars to support COVID between 2020 and 2021”.

“I can give you three of them , the International Monetary Fund (IMF) 1.7 billion dollars , another 1 billion , World Bank 600, the stabilization fund 300 million , that alone will give you 400 billion an Bank of Ghana 1.7 billion US dollars”.

He concluded by saying, if Government should have used all this monies well, like our economy wouldn’t have been where it is now .
