The Speaker of Ghana’s parliament, Rt Hon Alban S. K. Bagbin led a delegation this morning to the Presidency to present the 2025 Democracy Cup trophy to the H. E. President, John Dramani Mahama.

The 2025 Democracy Cup is currently on tour ahead of the official game on Friday, September 5 a the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.
City rivals Accra Hearts of Oak and Great Olympics will square off in a highly competitive game which kicks off at exactly 6pm.
In its second edition, the 2025 Democracy Cup is a symbol of unity which according to the organizers of the match is very vital to maintaining the respect Ghana has gained all over the world for her diversity.

On his part to support the match on Friday, the Ga Mantse King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II during a visit to his Palace by organizers promised to purchase 1,000 tickets assign of his endorsement to the Democracy Cup.

“We should not take our democracy for granted, and I believe it is a great initiative from the Members of Parliament and the Speaker of Parliament to lead this and seek to bring all Ghanaians together. Most countries have been through elections and ended up in civil war or something of that sort, but we have enjoyed peace and earned a lot of respect. Today, I’m ready to support this game with 1,000 tickets.
